Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on trumath.ca and learn.trumath.ca, and how you can control them. It forms part of our Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it and our Terms of Use.

The short version: we set four cookies in normal use, and a few more only if you sign in, play a video, or pass a security check. Every one of them is there to keep you signed in, to keep the site secure, or to take payment safely. We run no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, and no analytics service. We checked this on our live site in August 2026.

Effective date: 31 August 2026. Last updated: 31 August 2026.

1. Definitions

In this Cookie Policy the following terms have the following meanings:
Cookie: a small text file placed on your computer or device by a website you visit;
First-party cookie: one placed by us, and readable only by us;
Third-party cookie: one placed by another company whose service appears on our pages, such as our payment provider or a video player;
Session cookie: one that disappears when you close your browser;
Persistent cookie: one that stays on your device for a set period and is read each time you return;
Similar technologies: local storage, session storage, pixels and tags. Everything on this page applies to those too; and
Personal information: has the meaning given in our Privacy Policy and in Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. Who We Are

Our sites are owned and operated by TruMath Education Inc., an Ontario corporation (Ontario Corporation Number 1000037281).
  • Business address: 40 De La Roche Drive, Vaughan, Ontario, L4H 5G4, Canada
  • Email address: info@trumath.ca
  • Telephone number: +1 647-624-4796

3. How Our Sites Use Cookies

A cookie lets the site recognise your browser next time. That is how you stay signed in as you move between pages, how your cart survives checkout, and how our payment provider spots fraud.
Strictly necessary cookies. These make the site work: they keep your session alive, protect against forged requests, and prevent fraud during payment. They cannot be turned off, and under Canadian and comparable privacy law they do not require your consent, because the service you asked for cannot be delivered without them. Every cookie we set falls into this category.
Functional cookies. The only ones you may encounter come from the video player when you choose to play a class.

Analytics cookies. We do not use any.

Advertising and targeting cookies. We do not use any. We do advertise TruMath to students and to parents, because that is how people find us. But we never place advertising or tracking cookies on the course pages, and we never use your learning activity to target advertising.

4. What Cookies Our Sites Use

4.1 The following cookies are always set on learn.trumath.ca. All four are strictly necessary.
slim_session (LearnWorlds) — keeps your session and sign-in working. Expires after 2.5 days.
_cfuvid (Cloudflare) — distinguishes visitors for security and rate limiting. Expires when you close your browser.
__stripe_mid (Stripe) — distinguishes users and helps prevent fraud during payment. Expires after 1 year.
__stripe_sid (Stripe) — processes your payment. Expires after 30 minutes.
4.2 The following cookies are set only in certain situations.
XSRF-TOKEN (LearnWorlds) — set when you sign in or submit a form, to protect against forged requests. Expires when you close your browser.
cf_clearance (Cloudflare) — set if your browser is asked to pass a security check. Expires after 4 hours.
vuid (Vimeo) — set when you play a class video. Expires after 3 years.
player (Vimeo) — set when you play a class video, and remembers your playback settings. Expires after 1 year.
4.3 On trumath.ca, the video testimonials are embedded from YouTube. When you play one, YouTube sets its own cookies, which we do not control. If you do not play a video, no YouTube cookie is set.
4.4 These are the cookies we found when we checked our live site as a visitor would see it, in August 2026. If you find one we have not listed, please tell us and we will add it.
4.5 The companies that set cookies on our sites, and why:
LearnWorlds runs our course platform. Its cookie keeps you signed in and keeps your session working while you move between classes.
Stripe processes card payments. Its cookies exist to complete your payment and to detect fraudulent card use.
Cloudflare sits in front of our site as a security layer. Its cookies help it tell real visitors from automated traffic.
Vimeo plays our class videos. Its cookies are set only when you press play, and remember playback settings such as quality and volume.
YouTube plays the testimonial videos on trumath.ca. Its cookies are set only when you press play on one of those videos.
4.6 Analytics services we do not use. For clarity, and because many education websites do use these, we confirm that none of the following run on either of our sites:
Google Analytics — not used. We do not measure your visits with it, and no _ga, _gid or _gat cookie is set by us.
Mixpanel — not used.
Hotjar — not used. We do not record your session or build heatmaps of your behaviour.
Fullstory, Mouseflow and Fullsession — not used. We do not replay your screen or your clicks.
4.7 Advertising services we do not use. None of the following place cookies through our sites:
Meta and Facebook — no pixel. We do not set _fbp, and we do not send your activity to Meta.
Google Ads — no conversion or remarketing tag. We do not build remarketing audiences from your visit.
TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, LinkedIn and X — no pixels or tags from any of them.
AdRoll and similar advertising networks — not used.
4.8 Chat and support widgets we do not use. We answer questions by email rather than by live chat, so none of these are present:
Olark, Tawk.to, Freshchat, Zendesk and Intercom — none of these are installed, and none of their cookies are set.
4.9 Marketing pop-up tools we do not use.
OptinMonster, Sumo and Fomo — not used. We do not show pop-ups, scroll boxes, welcome mats, or "someone just bought this" notifications.
4.10 Affiliate tracking. We do not currently run an affiliate programme, so no affiliate cookie is set. If we start one, we will update this page first.
4.11 Local storage. Our course platform may store small amounts of information in your browser’s local storage to keep the class player working. This behaves like a cookie and is covered by this policy.
4.12 How long they last. Most of our cookies are session cookies and disappear when you close your browser. The longest-lived are set by Stripe and Vimeo, for one to three years, and only for fraud prevention and video playback.
4.13 Checking for yourself. If you would like to verify this list, open our site in your browser, press F12, and look under Application and then Cookies. What you see there should match what is written above.
4.14 Telling us about a mistake. If your browser shows a cookie we have not listed here, please email us at info@trumath.ca. We will investigate and correct this page.
4.15 For more detail on the personal information we collect and use, how we protect it, and your rights, please see our Privacy Policy.
4.16 Because every cookie we set is strictly necessary, we do not ask you to consent to them. Consent would be meaningless where declining would stop you signing in or paying.
4.17 We place no cookies of any kind inside the course pages beyond those needed to keep you signed in and to play the video.
4.18 We never use a student’s learning activity — which classes were watched, or how a test went — for advertising, and we never share it with an advertising platform.
4.19 We review this list whenever we add or remove a service, and at least once a year.

5. Consent and Control

  • 5.1 There is nothing to opt into. Every cookie we set is strictly necessary, so there are no optional cookies for you to accept or decline, and no tracking to switch off. That is why you may not see a cookie banner on our site.
  • 5.2 If we ever add an optional cookie of any kind, we will update this page and ask for your consent before anything is set.
  • 5.3 In your browser, you can block or delete cookies through the settings menu. Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge all let you do this and each has a help page explaining how. Blocking all cookies will stop you being able to sign in to your classes or complete a payment.
  • 5.4 Playing a video sets cookies from our video player, and on trumath.ca from YouTube. If you would rather not, do not play the video.
5.5 Third-party cookies we do not control. Some cookies are set by other companies whose services appear on our pages — Stripe during checkout, our video player, Cloudflare, and YouTube on trumath.ca. We cannot turn those off for you, and we do not receive the information they collect except as described in our Privacy Policy. Their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

5.6 Do Not Track. Browsers vary in how they send "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals, and there is no agreed standard for responding to them. Because we run no advertising or analytics trackers, there is nothing for such a signal to switch off on our sites. If that changes, we will say so here.

6. Changes to this Cookie Policy

  • 6.1 If we add a service that sets cookies, we will update this page first. If we ever add a whole new category, such as advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent before anything is set.
  • 6.2 The date at the top tells you when we last updated this page. In the event of any conflict between the current version of this Cookie Policy and any previous version, the current version prevails unless expressly stated otherwise.
